👮 MINI POLICE 👮 Today, Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team have been to the Model Village Primary School in Shirebrook to deliver a physical training exercise with the year five pupils. The exercise the pupils took part in was a 'Bleep Test' In the UK, the bleep test is a multi-stage shuttle run used by many organizations, especially the police and fire services, to assess a candidate's aerobic fitness. Participants run back and forth between two lines, 15 metres apart, in time with a series of audio beeps. The time between beeps decreases, forcing the runners to increase their speed, until they can no longer keep up. The goal is to achieve a specific score, such as the police standard of level 5.4. Not only did the pupils push themselves, a good level of comradery was shown when pupils then began to encourage each other! The pupils were a credit to their school and staff! Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to thank the Staff at The Model Village Primary School for allowing us to continue on our Mini Police Sessions and we look forward to continuing on with the sessions as the term goes on! #CommunityPolicing #SaferNeighbourhoodsTogether.
